Terms of Service

Safi exists to help you make better-informed personal decisions. Before you sign a lease, go on a date, or enter a business deal, we search publicly available records so you can walk in with the right questions to ask.

These terms are here to protect you and the people you check. They set out how Safi works, what we do with your data, and what you agree to when you use the service. Everything below is standard for a service like ours. No surprises, no fine print tricks.

One important thing to know: Safi only searches publicly available databases: government registries, court records, business filings, phone directories, and similar public sources. If information about someone isn't in those databases, we won't find it. A clean result means nothing came up in the sources we checked, not that there's nothing to find. That said, having some verified information is always better than going in with none, and Safi gives you a solid starting point for your own conversations.

Effective date: 22 March 2026 · Governing law: ADGM, Abu Dhabi Global Market, UAE

Who we are

Safi is operated by Safi Holdings Ltd, a company registered in ADGM (Abu Dhabi Global Market), UAE. When we say “Safi,” “we,” “us,” or “our,” we mean this entity and its affiliates.

Safi is a personal trust verification service. You give us a name and phone number, tell us why you're checking, and we help you prepare for your conversation with that person.

What you agree to

By creating an account, running a check, or using any part of Safi, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Safi.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Safi.

What Safi is

Safi is a personal conversation preparation service. We search publicly available records (government business registries, court databases, business filings, phone directories, and other public sources) and use AI to generate a personalised Conversation Playbook: a set of smart questions you can ask the person you're about to engage with, along with guidance on how to interpret their answers.

Safi reports are for your personal use only.

How the Conversation Playbook works

Safi does not show you raw data about the person you're checking. Instead, we analyse publicly available information and generate:

  1. A trust indicator: a green, yellow, or red signal based on what we found.
  2. Smart questions: specific questions tailored to your situation, with context on why each matters.
  3. Answer guidance: what a reassuring answer looks like versus a concerning one.

This design is intentional. We give you the tools to have the conversation, not a dossier to judge someone from a distance.

What you can't use Safi for

You agree not to use Safi for:

  1. Harassment, stalking, or intimidation: using Safi to track, monitor, or intimidate anyone.
  2. Blackmail or extortion: using information from Safi to threaten or coerce anyone.
  3. Public shaming: publishing, sharing, or redistributing Safi results (including screenshots) on social media, messaging groups, or any public forum.
  4. Discrimination: making decisions based on race, religion, gender, nationality, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  5. Employment screening: using Safi to make hiring, firing, or staffing decisions.
  6. Commercial screening: using Safi on behalf of an organisation to screen clients, tenants, or business partners at scale.

If we believe you're using Safi for a prohibited purpose, we will terminate your account immediately and without refund.

Anti-redistribution

You must not screenshot, copy, share, publish, or redistribute any part of your Safi Conversation Playbook.

Safi results are for your personal preparation only. If you share Safi results with anyone other than the person you're checking, you assume full legal responsibility for any consequences that arise.

Under UAE law, publishing information that harms someone's reputation, honour, or dignity, even if that information is true, may constitute a criminal offence under the UAE Penal Code (Federal Decree-Law No. 31/2021) and the Cybercrime Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 34/2021). We are not liable for your decision to share or publish Safi results.

Accuracy and limitations

Safi searches publicly available records only. We check government business registries, court databases, phone directories, sanctions lists, and other public sources. We cannot guarantee that every piece of information is complete, accurate, or up to date.

  • Public records may contain errors. A business registration under someone's name may belong to a different person.
  • Records may be outdated. A trade license that was active when we checked may have expired since.
  • We may not find everything. If someone's information isn't in the public databases we check, it won't appear in our results. A clean result means nothing came up in our sources, not that there is nothing to find.
  • We do not access private accounts, sealed records, or any non-public information.
  • We are not a substitute for professional legal or financial advice.

That said, having verified information from public records is better than having none at all. Safi gives you a starting point for your own conversations and decisions.

You agree not to take any adverse action against anyone based solely on Safi results. Safi helps you ask better questions. Your own judgment and the answers you receive should guide your decisions.

How checks work

  1. You provide a name, phone number, and use case.
  2. We search publicly available sources.
  3. We use AI to generate your Conversation Playbook.
  4. You receive your Playbook via the web and optionally via WhatsApp.
  5. Your results are automatically deleted from our systems after 7 days.

Your first check is free. After that, you can purchase a single check or a monthly subscription.

Payments and subscriptions

Pricing (UAE):

  • Single check: AED 39
  • Monthly unlimited: AED 49/month

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.

Monthly subscriptions:

  • Billed monthly on the date you subscribed.
  • You can cancel anytime. You'll keep access until the end of your billing period.
  • If a payment fails, your account enters a “past due” state. You can view existing results but can't run new checks until payment is resolved.

Refunds:

  • If a check fails due to a technical error on our end, we'll refund you or credit your account.
  • We do not offer refunds because you didn't like what a Playbook contained. The service is the preparation, not a guaranteed outcome.

Your data

What we collect: Your phone number (for authentication), the name and phone number of the person you're checking, and the use case you selected. We also collect standard analytics data (device type, pages visited).

How long we keep it: Check results are automatically deleted after 7 days. Your account information is retained while your account is active.

We don't sell your data. Ever. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Intellectual property

Safi's name, logo, website, Conversation Playbook format, and AI-generated content are our property. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from our content without permission.

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Safi, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Any action you take against a third party based on Safi results.
  • Any criminal or civil claim arising from your misuse of information obtained through Safi.

Dispute resolution

Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Safi will be resolved through the ADGM Courts or binding arbitration under the rules of the ADGM Arbitration Centre, at our discretion.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you via WhatsApp or an in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Safi after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Entire agreement

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Safi regarding your use of the service. They supersede any prior agreements, communications, or understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the subject matter of these terms.

No waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver of any provision of these terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by Safi.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these terms or your rights under these terms, in whole or in part, without our prior written consent. We may assign these terms to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets without your consent.

Force majeure

We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where the failure or delay results from any cause beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, power failures, internet or telecommunications failures, government actions, or failures of third-party service providers (including data sources, payment processors, and cloud infrastructure).

Survival

The following sections survive termination or expiration of these terms: What you can't use Safi for, Accuracy and limitations, Intellectual property, Limitation of liability, Indemnification, Dispute resolution, Severability, Entire agreement, No waiver, and Assignment.
